Your anxiety might have started as a small worry, and trying to get it to quiet down worked at first, but now you have to do more and more to get your worries to leave you alone. What began as a small doubt has now turned into constant fear and complex rituals. Whether you’re facing worries about getting sick, about doubts about whether your partner is right for you, doing things just right, or checking for safety, OCD often latches on to areas in your life that are important to you and makes you question yourself, others, and even your sense of security and reality. For early career professionals, OCD turns into a nightmare- spoiling precious time with loved ones or keeping you from doing what you enjoy. Maybe even your sleep is impacted- OCD won’t let you go to sleep without intense worries or routines. You’ve decided you’ve had enough.

OCD can turn a beautiful, rich life into what feels like a maze of doubt without any real escape because no matter what you do it seems to always return. If this sounds like a step that you are ready to take, I’m so glad that you made it here. OCD is very treatable, and I’m here to help!

Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)
This is the golden standard first line treatment for OCD. The goal of this treatment is to practice “facing your fear” when it comes to OCD. You can give yourself the opportunity to learn that you don’t have to participate in compulsions, to practice tolerating anxiety, and, most importantly, to improve your quality of life.
About me

I’m Dr. Leah Bogusch, and I am a clinical psychologist. I’ve been working in the behavioral health field for over 11 years. In this time, I have helped many people manage anxiety symptoms and work toward important life goals. For me, therapy isn’t just about symptom reduction, it’s also about building your best life! In recent years, I’ve moved toward a more specific focus in treatment of OCD and have participated in many trainings to understand OCD well and be able to provide strong, evidence-based treatments. As a psychologist, it is so rewarding to see the improvements clients make in living a life outside of OCD’s control and do things that OCD told them they could never do. As you consider the next steps to addressing OCD, I look forward to welcoming you into a therapeutic relationship that helps you take control back from OCD and build a life of your choosing.
